Happy that the handles don't get hot but disappointed that the horizontal bar that they are attached to does get very hot. When you tilt the screen out to add wood to the fire the screen rests on your thigh and the bar is VERY hot and could burn someone with thinner clothing. For the price it should be heat resistant.
